The challenge
Stock levels were maintained separately in the point-of-sale system, the warehouse system and the online store, synchronised by an overnight batch job. Overselling was a daily occurrence, and staff had quietly built their own spreadsheets to compensate.
What we did

- A reconciliation service with explicit conflict-resolution rules agreed with operations, so disagreements resolve predictably.
- Reservation logic so items in an active cart are held rather than double-sold.
- An operations dashboard that surfaces sync failures immediately instead of the next morning.
